Bryson
Born extremely premature and cerebral palsy
SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital

Considering Bryson was born at 26 weeks weighing only 1 lb. 15.7oz and faced seven months in the NICU at Cardinal Glennon, he is a happy zealous kid. He has had to overcome a lot of medical problems in his life but that hasn’t stopped him from doing the things he loves.

For Bryson, getting his cochlear implants instantly allowed him to hear the outside world which he been previously denied to him. Now with his implants he can play video games and dance to the music he loves to listen too.

Being able to walk unassisted is also a huge accomplishment for Bryson. Until he underwent ground breaking surgery under the hands of Dr. T.S. Park at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at five years old, he was using a walker.

Bryson still receives therapy 2-3 times a week. Byrson loves to take long car rides and eat his favorite food, pop tarts and peanut butter sandwiches.

CMN Hospitals Funds in Action: CMN Hospitals funds helped renovate the NICU where Byrson spent the first 7 months of his life at Cardinal Glennon and Child Life Services that helped Bryson have fun while recuperating from surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
