For the Kids!

December 13, 2011

November was officially Dance Marathon month for Children's Miracle Network of Greater St. Louis as we had two amazing programs to benefit hospitalized kids at our local partner hospitals, St. Louis Children's Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.  Together, the programs at Washington University in St. Louis and Saint Louis University raised nearly $200,000!

Kicking off the month, the 13th Annual St. Louis Area Dance Marathon was held at Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, November 5th.  Over 700 participants celebrated with the student-run Executive Board as they danced and stayed on their feet for 12 hours, raising a whopping $150,000 for our partner hospitals.

Equally exciting, Saint Louis University held their very first Dance Marathon on Saturday, November 19th.  An executive board of 19 students worked tirelessly for a year to establish SLU Dance Marathon, and they successfully created a great new tradition on SLU's campus.  In a huge first year, SLU DM raised over $30,000 and had over 300 participants at their event.

Our Miracle Families had a wonderful time at the Dance Marathons this fall and we are so grateful to the students at these programs for all their passion, hard work, and dedication.  We can't wait to see what 2012 brings for these programs, and are pumped for our next Dance Marathon in March 2012 at Southeast Missouri State University!
